The proposal to convert the former Meopta into a university building by the Zemáneks responds to the school management's efforts to build a university campus of the Technical University. Extensive reconstruction in 1995-1998 transformed a disused industrial building into a joint building of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication Technologies and the Faculty of Chemistry with extensive facilities of classrooms, laboratories, offices, library, auditorium, etc.
